Loved everything about our visit and hoping to do it again. Perhaps try the dinner service when/if they have it. The team were so friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous!

Always an experience and never just a lunch. The warmth and hospitality is what you expect when visiting Du Fermier. Farm fresh produce, succulent protein and amazing desserts topped with a load of warmth from Annie and her dedicated team.

If you like classic French food then absolutely try Annie Smithers restaurant! Every dish is simple and honest. It’s hard to find a booking so we went on a weekday lunch and enjoyed the meal. What a delightful meal..amazing!!!

Dined for lunch. Our 4 course menu consisted of cauliflower appetiser, pork terrine entree, duck leg main with serving of potato & I had the cheese dessert whilst hubby opted for the meringue. Special mention to the homemade bread Annie bakes as it was wonderful on its own with butter & also to soak up the sauce from the duck main. All the food was beautifully presented & tasted delicious. We got to meet Annie also as she bought out the appetiser. A very lovely & talented woman. I had a few homemade lemon cordial drinks also which was refreshing. Service from the wait staff was very welcoming & friendly. Loved the special take home gift also, such a beautiful touch & a perfect way to end a perfect lunch. I've wanted to do this lunch experience for a long time & was delighted when we finally got a booking. Recommend as a wonderful way to enjoy a fine dining lunch experience in Trentham & hope to return again in the future.

Never disappoints. Annie and her team make you feel at home, with casual conversation and humour, and amazing food at every turn. Meticulous ingredient sourcing, flavours that sing, and put together with love. We always enjoy our special lunch visits Must book ahead.

My wife and I recently visited and had a thoroughly amazing experience. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and seated in a cosy spot near the fireplace. First course was a delightful soup (ham hock and vegetables) which evoked senses of cold winter's days in a French farmhouse. As someone who loves his bread, what a pleasant surprise it was to have house baked baguettes accompany this dish. A delightful bowl of duck egg ravioli stuffed with cheese followed the soup. It was smooth, melted in your mouth and was just enough to make you wanting more. The roast chicken main was the most succulent bird we had ever tasted and was accompanied by roast vegetables from Annie's farm. We opted for a sweet chocolate dessert which ended the meal on a perfect note. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in and were pleasantly surprised when Annie served the soup and had a chat about the produce and how she prepares here food for her diners. On departure, we thanked Annie for her hospitality and food and were given a nice sweet treat to take with us. She was also generous enough to give us another baguette to take home! We will definitely be back (with the whole family).
